THE BOOMERS STRIKE BACK
The jig's up all you Gen Y and Gen X upstarts. Boomers are back in the headlines and they're mad as hell.
All we've heard about for the past five years is Gen Y this and Gen X that, with their apologists sniveling about the impenetrable ceiling created by the generation ahead of them. They have characterised Boomers as boring old fogeys, grimley hanging on to wealth and power, and preventing the younger generations from getting a foothold on the ladder of success.
We they were right about wealth and power, and wrong about old. And Boomers have had enough!

'This web site is about Baby Boomers who are aged 46 to 64 (born 1946-1964 as well co-incidentally). We have always been aware of our generation and our uniqueness in that we are a constant worry for our governments due to our numbers.
This year, the first of the Boomers will be eligible for aged pensions and then in the next couple of decades aged care and increased health problems will dominate the annual budgets.'
We are living longer so governments are encouraging us to work longer, stay healthier and invest our money wisely.
We need to work together to make sure that we have a bonza life as we age, enjoy each others company and leave a positive image of our time on this earth.
Please join us in sharing those good times, innovative ideas and suggestions to make the rest of our lives a bonza one.
I am 60 next year!
Something is wrong. I am still the 16 year old in Grade 12 at high school (sent to school a year early when my parents lied about my age). I am still lying on my bed listening to the words of the music from my favourite group the Beatles. I am still being told to get my haircut by my parents and teachers. I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. I look forward to the next dance so I can talk to some members of the opposite sex.
Where did those years go? Work, marriage, sport, children, partying, study, travel, family and sleeping and not necessarily in that order but it all played a huge part.
I will celebrate my 60th with a party because I want to thank a lot of people for my life as it has been a good one. Too many of us wait until wakes at our funerals to say what we feel and I want to be there for mine. Not that I am writing myself off but this will be the last big celebration so it will be a good one.
From now on I will not be counting the years and just getting on with it, doing all those things I did in the past but without the fuss.
BONZA will certainly be part of it and I invite any of you that want something to do with your life after 60 to consider being a part of BONZA as it is you- the Babyboomers.
Who knows what we could do with it. Email me on brian@bonza.com.au
Let’s have a BONZA life!!
